Unique scrapstore looks very cool. They sell online and to anyone. Most scrapstores seem to be non-commercial use only, membership organisations who don't deliver. Postage starts at £4.99 (which is pricey) but if you order enough it'll be worth while.. |

Been downstairs to see if I have any post. A parcel was waiting for me - on the shelf above the letter boxes - OPENED and with the contents pulled out.
Why was it not in my letter box? (if it was too big they should have left a card), how did it get into the block (the door is locked) and WHO THE FUCK IS OPENING MY POST.
It was clearly opened AFTER it arrived in the building as the contents had been extracted. The padded envelope is torn open - the seal hasn't come undone. Why was it left there - was it the current postwoman who seems to know someone in my block?
I'm really pissed off with this - 90% of my packets are arriving opened.
UPDATE: Filled out 2 complaints forms on royal mail's web site. One for this, and for the recorded delivery that wasn't, earlier in the month. Will I get a response? Who knows.. |

| Leaving Ubuntu-UK |
[Mar. 28th, 2007|10:27 pm] |
I've been asked to remove my journal from the Ubuntu-UK planet because of the language in the last post.
The anonymous comment made reference to "my recent reaction to an email on the ubuntu-uk's mailing list." - when I objected to a sexist joke. I am the only woman who posts on the mailing list (surprise) and no-one took it seriously. I consider Nik Butler to be the worst, Alan Pope seems fine FWIW.
Most people didn't even see that it was a breach of the code of conduct.
ANYWAY - I see no point in helping Ubuntu-UK look more diverse than it is. If GLLUG has many more women maybe you should ask yourselves why?
Congratulations boys - now you are all nice and safe in your male only environment. No-one will object any more!
UPDATE: Left the mailing list too! I dread to think what their irc channel is like..
This sort of thing makes me wonder if I'm right in retraining in IT. Maybe I'll be better off returning to local government. *ANGRY* |
