I'm planning on going to dorkbot tomorrow evening. It includes things such as 8 Bit Larynx: Controlling the 128K Sinclair Spectrum sound chip with beat boxing and the automatic comedian.
The new Ubuntu is out on Thursday. There is a London release party, but unfortunately not at the Pembury. It's at De Hems, 11 Macclesfield Street, London, W1D 5BW and is organised by Canonical. I *may* go, but I probably can't afford it.
There is a tube walk from Crossharbour to Mudchute which I may also go to, finances depending. I can get there and back, but I can't afford the curry :( Bah. |

Temping interview yesterday was phone based rather than admin, and was for the Council's pest control people. Dealing with cockroaches all day would probably be a bit grim, but it's a job none the less.
Had a meeting with another agency today about a considerably nicer job working for a charity in the City of London. I'll hear whether I get an interview ~ Mid May.
I was invited to a job event at the local hospital. It turned out to be one guy handing out leaflets with their website address. Totally pointless.
Went home via Cash Converters to find out that it's turned into a church :( Where am I supposed to get cheap electrical goods now?
Off to the Sandpit this evening for gaming fun :) |

Went to ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) ewtikins long hair party at abigailb's. I left before they all went to the pub as I was tired. ewtikins put my hair into a fancy plait which was fun and different, I should play with my hair more often.
I should go to the Pembury this evening as it's mirrorshard's birthday drinks. Hopefully there will be some decent games being played, I'm not so keen on the intellectual masturbation ones of late.. |

Went to the games event at the Pembury yesterday, not been for several weeks. After a slow start I managed to persuade people to a) play games and b) play games that weren't the one based on chess that I don't like/can't do.
I'd been feeling moody earlier in the week and wondered if it was caused by an interaction between beer and my anti-depressants. I'd intended not to drink but that went by the way side as soon as I stepped in the Pembury..
I enjoyed playing Carcassone, I think I prefer social activity that is structured. It seems much easier to interact with people like that, especially when there is a group who meet every week and I'm a bit of an outsider.
The travel took ages, over an hour to get there as I had to wait for 25 minutes at Liverpool Street. On the way back it was two buses - the 48 from Hackney to London Bridge, and then the 35 home.
I should attend more games events even though the transport is a real hassle. However I really go for the games so it's a bit of a wasted journey if people don't want to play... Having little money and twice the journey time it takes much more commitment for me to attend. |

Woke up silly am on Saturday. Because of this I crashed out mid afternoon on Sat, setting my alarm for the event on sat evening. Naturally when the time came I decided to stay in bed. Sad but predictable.
Two tems ended on Saturday evening and they both sold - yay! Paypal has made me upgrade my account so it now charges me fees to accept payments :(
The more I sell the more I'll be safe to buy from, if you see what I mean. Hopefully this'll mean that stuff will start selling for more than £2.. Currently I'm about breaking even when you take all the fees into account. |

Went to That Mitchell and Webb Sound with deerfold and his partner Lou-without-a-LJ. It was a recording of 2 half hour comedy shows for Radio 4 which will be broadcast in May. As last time we went we only got standby tickets this time we went really early and got tickets 012 & 013. We got on the second row and twas v good.
deerfold now believes me when I say that the Drill Hall is a gay venue. Officially it's a Gay and Lesbian venue but the vast majority of shows are on male issues, and the few female shows seem to be on straight themes.
It easy to forget that straight people cannot read things the way gay and bi people can - it was very obvious to me that the bar staff were all gay, never mind the theatre programme. Hetrosexuals may not even notice..
Anyway I was really glad I went as I was close to putting it off with a bad case of inertia and apathy earlier. It was well worth getting my arse in gear :) |

Well no ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) bmovie for me tomorrow as I've no money (again). However I've something to look forward to as I'm going with deerfold to a double recording of That Mitchell and Webb Sound for Radio 4. They were bloody good last time and I need cheering up. (He apparently has 1 more ticket left)
I note the picture we are using for the wikipedia article is definitely taken outside the Drill Hall. You can see one of the entrances to Goodge Street deep level shelter in the background. |

I haven't gone to bed yet - I blame (err me). This means that I will not be going out to bmovie this evening. Sorry :(
I spent most of the night making jewellry including 2 bracelet/necklace/earring sets with glass pearls. (I should probably take photos but it feels spammy)
I've also been wikipedia-ing including doing so-vital-I-must-not-go-to-bed stuff like categorising articles relating to Bradford ;) I started an article on the almost comical Broadway development a few days ago. |

This Friday is the return of bmovie - in a new venue on Caledonian Road. The movie is "It Lives!" also know as "It's Alive". It's a 1974 piss poor horror film about a killer baby.
As it's the first bmovie in the new venue i have to go - even though I a)don't have a lot of money due to the paypal fiasco and b) have been up in the night and asleep in the day all week.
I need to make myself go even though I'm concerned I won't enjoy it. If I chicken out I'll be unhappy with myself.

Just got back from "That Mitchell & Webb Sound" at the Drill Hall. It was good fun - we were a little late from eating and got standby seats 7 & 8. Thankfully the first 12 standbys got in :) Mitchell and Webb are the couple who star in the (UK only) PC and Mac adverts.
We got a double recording and I enjoyed myself enormously!
Thanks to deerfold for offering tickets. I need to do more Radio 4 comedy recordings! |

| Pembury games night |

Well I got to bed at around 5am ish and woke up sort of 6pm ish (which turned out to be 7pm ish cos the clocks had changed). If I left for the Pembury now I'd get there at 9pm ish, 2 hours + journey for 2 hours of pub. It's a bit of a non starter - sorry. |

Well its 11.30pm and I've washed my hair. I could get ready and get to the club by around ~12.30ish but I've cried off. I can't face it - apathy has taken over. I have beer here and some new beads to play with. Spending £6 +cloakroom for the Betty Ford Clinic doesn't appeal. This means, inertia depending, I should be at geek scrapheap challenge at the Pembury tomorrow.

As I've been disorganised I ran out of medication and didn't fancy waiting til Tuesday for a repeat prescription. I took myself to the doctors in the Aylesbury Estate and amazingly managed to get a walk in appointment. I saw a different doctor who seemed really good. She told me that people aren't generally put on my medication anymore because it can cause heart problems (!) and gave me a form to take to Guys for an ecg. She advised me to try part time work and had heard of Wikipedia..
On the way back I did some pen and paper mapping of a bit of the Aylesbury Estate, East Street and the Walworth Road. My aim is to produce a map using Open Streetmap to add to those articles.
I'm supposed to be going to the Betty Ford Clinic tonight at London Bridge. As it's open til 4am that'll probably mean that I won't get to Geek Scrapheap Challenge the next day.

I've run a bath and I'm planning on going to the Pembury later. I won't be able to eat anything and I'm planning on not drinking either. There really isn't any other way I can do it..
Last night I saw a glow on the floor and presumed it was from outside. To my surprise it turned out to be the uv/glow in the dark beads - specifically the white ones :) I had to throw them under the bed to hide them! |

I went tube walking today. The plan was to meet at Caledonian Road at 2pm, walk to Holloway Road, and then go to Camden Town and walk to Euston. We were doing a special double walk to celebrate the birthdays of tubewalker and miss_newham. I arrived late and got to Caledonian Road after they'd set off. I met up with the group in Camden and had a nice walk along regents canal. We then ended up in a pub in Euston, and then a curry house on Drummond Street.
I managed to spend far too much money (about £30 I think) which has left me with no money for the next week.. I manage to live beyond my means very easily :(
I'm supposed to be going to the Pembury to play board games tomorrow. However I have £25 in total now and potentially I could have to pay £15 of that on ebay for a 16 bit network card I've bid on. I also have food, travel, electricity to pay for. I can't really keep up with people when everyone else has a job..
So I'm not sure what to do. I'll think about it tomorrow when sober and more awake. |

Did College yesterday and had the lecture on access control lists which the tutor has been complaining about for weeks. He apparently hates them and the college has someone from outside come in and do them apparently. They seemed pretty straight forward to me..
No bmovie tonight and the caildh at £10 is out of my price range. I think I'd only justify £10+ for a night out if it was a band. I'd love to see !!! and that's £13.50, it's the cost that's putting me off.. The fact that I've got about £40 until a week on Tuesday doesn't help. (I'm not supported by anyone so it's not like I have no money but can go out or anything..)
I'm planning on doing the tube walk tomorrow. 2pm at Calendonian Road. I'm planning on going to the Pembury for board games on Sunday. |
